Synopsis – What We Do In The Light

In this anthology series, five intimate tales explore the fragile line between life and death, love and loss, reality and the unseen. 

 

Each episode stands alone yet echoes the same question: what lingers when words fail, trust fractures, or time runs out?

 

From a tender reunion between a caregiver and a nonverbal autistic man (The Shave), to a family whose act of kindness turns into a fight for survival (The Lucky Ones), to a grieving mother’s desperate plunge into the spirit world (Into the Bardo), these stories unearth human connection at its most raw and transformative. A father pleads with the cosmos for one more day with his son (Hereafter), and a patient in a rehabilitation center is stirred back to life by a mythical visitation (The Lady of Avalon).

Told with cinematic intimacy and lyrical restraint, Season 1 invites audiences to journey into the spaces where the seen and unseen meet, and where every ending carries the possibility of a beginning.

Dramedy, A flawed but devoted father must face a cosmic review of his life and plead with the divine for one last chance to return to his son.

Ep2. THE LUCKY ONES written and directed by Alfredo Diaz

Thriller, After a bloodied stranger stumbles out of the woods and into their lives, a cabin-dwelling family takes him in only to discover too late that they were the lucky ones he chose not to kill.

Ep3. INTO THE BARDO written by Kate T. Billingsley;

Drama, Haunted by loss, a grieving mother crashes into the world of a reclusive mystic, demanding to contact her murdered daughter, unleashing a spirit realm where forgiveness may be the only way out. Tagline: Some wounds don’t rest in peace. 

 

Ep4. THE LADY OF AVALON written by Lash Dooley;

Surreal Drama, Patient in a rehabilitation center believes he's been visited by King Arthur's historic lady of the lake and finds a new breath of life.
